About The Position

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. This role is responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. The engineer will identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology. They will handle new process baseline qualifications and managing, coordinate and execute process, equipment and material evaluation and optimization initiatives, and implement changes at process steps. The role also involves leading and participating in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction activities, validating and fanning out new process baselines, including new processes, tools, and materials for new product introduction, and supporting site-to-site portability. Additionally, the engineer will manage and audit material suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk management objectives, and support internal and external audits. They will develop new or modified process formulations, define processing or handle equipment requirements and specifications, and review processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Coordination of design requirement reviews with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods and compilation and evaluation of test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications are also key responsibilities. The role includes planning projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approach in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
