Learn more at www.analog.com and on LinkedIn and Twitter (X). We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Facilities Engineering team, based in San Jose, CA. This is a strategic, high-impact role with both local and global responsibilities, supporting and influencing ADI’s mechanical infrastructure across its worldwide portfolio. The position plays a key role in advancing standardization, operational excellence, sustainability, and system resilience across non-manufacturing facilities in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. This role is responsible for the design, optimization, and lifecycle management of mechanical systems, with a strong focus on HVAC and process utilities (e.g., CDA, vacuum, exhaust, cooling water). The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with the ability to operate at a program level, driving standards, supporting global projects, and partnering closely with design, construction, and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (airside and hydronic) and process utilities (exhaust, CDA, vacuum, cooling systems)
  • Ability to prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and BIM/Revit models for multi-discipline integration.
  • Familiarity with building controls, smart building technologies (BMS, EMS).
  • In-depth understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, and local/global building codes and standards.
  • Experience supporting construction administration, reviewing submittals, RFIs, and conducting field inspections.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities mechanical engineering, MEP consulting, or contracting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex mechanical projects and contribute to global engineering programs, balancing technical depth with program execution.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across geographies and disciplines.
  • Hands-on, self-motivated, and capable of operating both technically and at a program level
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a global environment
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Background in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or high-tech environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (LEED, WELL, ISO 50001) and energy-efficient technologies; knowledge of international codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Revit/3D modeling and CMMS platforms is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Global Program Leadership: Develop, maintain and improve global mechanical standards, reliability programs, and energy-efficiency initiatives across ADI’s facilities portfolio.
  • System Ownership: Serve as the subject matter expert for HVAC and process systems (CDA, vacuum, exhaust, process gases, abatement). Ensure systems are designed, operated, and maintained for safety, reliability, and efficiency
  • Resilience & Reliability: Design and evaluate critical infrastructure with a focus on uptime, redundancy, and operational continuity.
  • Maintenance & CMMS Programs: Provide technical guidance on mechanical systems within ADI’s global CMMS platform; optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Project Execution: Lead or support mechanical scopes on construction and infrastructure projects of all sizes, from advanced cleanrooms and high-tech facilities to corporate offices.
  • Building Systems Design: Prepare and review mechanical design documents including basis of design (BOD), Owners Project Requirements (OPR), load calculations, system sizing, floor plans, PID’s, industrial ventilation calcs.
  • Cross-Discipline Coordination: Collaborate with architectural, structural, and electrical teams to ensure integrated, code-compliant building designs.
  • Continuous Improvement & Sustainability Initiatives: Drive system optimization to improve performance, reduce cost, and support ESG and Mission 2030 goals. Lead initiatives such as energy efficiency, heat recovery, electrification, and controls optimization.
  • Data & Standards Development: Contribute to enterprise engineering databases, condition scoring tools, and global operating procedures.
  • Incident Response: Provide expert troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical events; lead global knowledge sharing for corrective actions.
