About The Position

Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for a Staff Engineer-Electrical. This role involves functioning in an engineering capacity, developing and modifying technical deliverables associated with modifications and upgrades on existing hydroelectric generating plants. The engineer will apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision, continuing to build knowledge to develop concepts and approach more complex engineering problems. The role also involves providing guidance on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and client policies, as well as technical guidance to others. The engineer will independently apply knowledge and comply with the client's quality program, prepare complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects, perform complex research, and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. They will prepare complex engineering calculations, manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements, and actively delegate tasks to lower-level team members. Reviewing lower-level engineering work, leading production teams, coordinating multiple discipline activities, and serving as the responsible charge for a project are also key aspects. The role requires active coordination with internal/external team members and assisting with the identification of key client interests and drivers. The engineer may design a complete project of moderately complex scope or support multiple projects on complex technical challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 yrs Experience in hydro or fossil power generation plant design.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70.
  • Familiarity with California Electrical Code.
  • Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM or ETAP is a plus.

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering from either a recognized accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
