Job Description Summary: Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data workflows that support business needs on Cloud-based systems. Propose architecture that enables integration of disparate enterprise data. Build and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture, ingress/egress data pipelines for applications, data layers and Data Lake; determine cost effective efficient data movement strategies across a hybrid cloud. Lead multi-functional design sessions with functional experts to understand and detail data requirements and use cases. Develop and document the data movement standards, best practices, and promote them across department. Drive long-term data architecture roadmaps in alignment with corporate strategic objectives. Conduct code and design reviews to ensure data related standards and best practices are met. Educate others on modern data engineering concepts and design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any), Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field of study and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any), Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field of study and eight (8) years of experience, the employer will also accept a Master’s degree in Engineering (any), Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with: AWS; Spark, Python or SQL; Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse or MS SQL Server; ETL / Orchestration Tools (DBT); Git; Power BI or Tableau; ML or Notebooks; Hadoop 2.0, Impala or Hive.
