About The Position

The Staff Engagement & Events Manager plays a key role in creating meaningful opportunities for staff connection, recognition, and engagement by leading the planning and execution of staff engagement initiatives, recognition efforts, employee-led initiatives, and organization-wide events across WSFSSH. Reporting to the Managing Director of DEI and Organizational Learning & Development, this individual contributor partners with leaders across the organization to deliver engaging staff experiences that strengthens WSFSSH's culture and advances strategic priorities. The role requires someone who is a highly organized, collaborative, and execution-oriented project manager with demonstrated experience in planning and executing staff engagement initiatives, staff recognition efforts, and large-scale staff events. They need to be able to manage multiple priorities, coordinate logistics, build strong cross-functional relationships, and create experiences that bring colleagues together across a multi-site organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience planning and executing staff engagement initiatives, recognition efforts, or organization-wide events and celebrations.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, logistics, vendors, budgets, and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute high-quality staff events and engagement experiences from concept through completion.
  • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with staff, leaders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Creative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach with strong attention to detail and a commitment to creating inclusive and meaningful staff experiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management, surveys, and event registration tools.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of organization-wide events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing employee engagement initiatives, recognition efforts, or organization-wide events within a nonprofit, healthcare, supportive housing, higher education, or other mission-driven organization
  • Experience supporting employee resource groups (ERGs), affinity groups, or employee-led initiatives.
  • Experience managing event budgets, purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and contracts.
  • Spanish language proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of WSFSSH’s staff engagement initiatives, recognition efforts, and signature initiatives.
  • Own and manage WSFSSH’s annual staff engagement calendar in partnership with the Managing Director, including timelines, planning tools, and project plans.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen staff connection, appreciation, participation, and engagement through meaningful initiatives.
  • Partner with the Managing Director to coordinate and strengthen WSFSSH’s staff communities, including affinity groups and other employee-led initiatives, by providing guidance, resources, and operational support.
  • Collaborate with employee leaders and internal stakeholders to coordinate planning, communications, and logistics that increase participation and effectiveness.
  • Gather feedback and participation insights to identify opportunities to strengthen staff communities and enhance future initiatives.
  • Own the full event lifecycle for WSFSSH’s organization-wide staff events and milestone celebrations, from planning to execution.
  • Manage event budgets, purchasing, vendor relationships, and contracts to ensure effective and responsible use of resources.
  • Develop event planning tools and processes to support consistent, high-quality event delivery.
  • Partner with internal departments, leaders, site teams, and external vendors to coordinate successful event delivery and create engaging staff experiences.
  • Manage and coordinate event announcements, registration processes, reminders, and follow-up communications to support successful participation.
  • Collaborate with Communications Manager to increase awareness and participation by developing flyers, newsletter content, and other promotional materials.
  • Develop outreach strategies to encourage participation and ensure staff across WSFSSH’s multiple locations have access to engagement opportunities.
