Staff Electronics Engineer, ISR
About The Position
DZYNE has an immediate need for a talented Electronics Engineer who will serve as a technical owner and hands-on contributor across the full lifecycle of DZYNE’s aircraft and launcher electrical systems. In this role, the engineer will perform circuit and subsystem design, system integration, troubleshooting, harness design, avionics/electronic system testing, and data analysis. This position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager, while working directly with Vehicle Technical Leads and Program Managers. You will be working on these platforms: Ultra UAS - Long Endurance UAV and LEAP ISR - ISR System Platform.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated capability in complex circuit board design, bring-up, signal/power integrity analysis, and validation
- Proven experience in designing electronics from concept to functional prototype, including hardware selection, documentation, system level integration and troubleshooting
- In-depth understanding of Analog/Mixed-signal, Digital, or RF circuit components
- Detailed working knowledge of common test equipment, and CAD tools such as Altium
- Excellent problem solving and planning skills
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in designing electronics for robotic and/or aircraft systems
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, common serial interfaces, high speed communication, and firmware/software integration
- UAV experience highly desirable
- Experience working in small to medium sized teams in a fast-paced R&D environment
- Familiarity with MIL-spec hardware and harnessing
Responsibilities
- Lead full PCB design cycle involving requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, functional verification, and performance tests
- Design, develop, integrate, and debug avionics systems/subsystems
- Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses connecting systems within the air vehicle
- Support design updates driven by product improvements, obsolescence, and evolving requirements
- Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to support new product development and active deployments in a fast-paced environment
- Mentor other engineers and promote sound engineering practices
