About The Position

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Staff Electrical Engineer develops creative and technically superior engineering solutions appropriate to each project assigned. This role involves executing high-quality design solutions with limited or no supervision, leading the development of design concepts, and creating detailed product documentation. The engineer will utilize electronics design expertise including analog and digital circuit design, PCBs, microcontrollers, sensors, motors, and power supplies. Responsibilities also include PCB layout design, analog, digital, and microcontroller design using schematic capture software, and hands-on experience with electronics development and test equipment. The role requires programming, prototyping, troubleshooting, and testing small to medium-sized electronics products, with embedded language programming at prototype and proof-of-concept levels. Knowledge of communication protocols like RS232, SPI, I2C, USB, Bluetooth, and WiFi is essential. The engineer will also lead and mentor other engineers and designers, manage scope, schedule, and cost, and act as a technical leader on projects. Delivering flawless client deliverables, presenting to internal and external audiences, and ensuring products meet company, international standards, and regulations are key aspects. Additionally, the role involves leading proposal development for projects and staying abreast of new technologies to recommend investments and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum BSEE or related degree from an accredited university
  • 6-15 years full-time engineering experience
  • Understanding of latest tools, design practices, and programming languages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in documentation and specification writing
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly synthesize and drive towards appropriate solutions
  • Basic project management experience
  • Proven experience in project ownership and accountability
  • Skilled at leading, planning, coordinating, and directing the work of design teams
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook)
