About The Position

Our Personal Care (Enhanced Living) team is looking for an experienced staff educator to join their team! Messiah Lifeways is looking for a Staff Educator to help shape a strong, supportive learning experience for Enhanced Living team members. In this role, you’ll combine your nursing knowledge, teaching skills, and passion for resident-centered care to welcome new team members, strengthen clinical and personal care skills, and support a culture where staff feel prepared, encouraged, and connected to our mission.

Requirements

  • Current LPN or RN license in Pennsylvania.
  • CPR/First Aid certification with teacher certification. If not currently certified as a CPR teacher, must be willing to obtain within 45 days of hire date.
  • At least three years of nursing experience in long-term care.
  • Previous teaching experience is required.
  • Ability to successfully complete and pass the DHS Train-the-Trainer Medication Course within 8 months of employment.
  • A natural ability to teach, coach, mentor, and encourage others.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort using technology and learning platforms to support education, documentation, tracking, and communication.
  • A collaborative approach with leaders, nurses, nursing assistants, medication technicians, mentors, residents, families, and support departments.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming and effective orientation experience that helps new Enhanced Living team members feel prepared from day one.
  • Develop and deliver engaging education, coaching, re-education, and competency validation for new and experienced team members.
  • Partner with Enhanced Living leaders, clinical managers, mentors, Human Resources, and support departments to identify learning needs and promote consistent, high-quality care.
  • Build practical tools such as orientation guides, competency checklists, skills validations, and follow-up systems that support team member success.
  • Coordinate required education, annual in-services, CPR/First Aid opportunities, and training through Relias and other learning platforms.
  • Provide hands-on education related to medication administration, documentation, change of condition, resident safety, infection control, emergency procedures, and communication expectations.
  • Use audit findings, incident trends, infection control concerns, and quality improvement opportunities to create targeted education that makes a real difference.
  • Serve as a trusted coach and resource for Enhanced Living team members while reinforcing confidence, consistency, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
  • Support team members across all three shifts by adjusting your schedule when needed to provide in-person education, coaching, and follow-up.
