About The Position

The Staff Educator & Infection Control Nurse Opportunity is for individuals who believe in providing exceptional service, value a trauma-informed approach to care, and want to be part of a supportive, professional team dedicated to creating a safe and therapeutic environment. Located in Lexington, Kentucky, The Ridge is an accredited, 110-bed hospital providing psychiatric (mental health) and substance use disorder services to children, adolescents, and adults. The position summary states that the Staff Educator is responsible for assisting the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing hospital training events for all staff required training. They also provide patient nursing assessments on an as-needed basis and participate in treatment team meetings as needed.

Requirements

A Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university required
Current KY Nursing Licensure
Minimum of three years of experience and/or training; preferably in a behavioral health or acute setting.

Nice To Haves

A Master’s Degree (M.A.) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assures staff trainings address any changes in health care management and health science and technology
Ensure the designs of the education and training programs are based on instructional strategies to enhance staff retention
Administers and ensures compliance with TB Skin tests and flu.
Participate in the antibiotic stewardship program; running reports and doing follow up work with providers.
Provides, on an as-needed basis, patient nursing assessments.
Participates in treatment team meetings as needed.
