About The Position
St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Staff Educator for their Organizational Development and Learning Department (ODAL). Under the general supervision of the department leader or authorized designee, this role provides orientation, on-the-job training, and continuing education programs for all assigned units.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Maintains current license to practice nursing in the State of West Virginia.
- Minimum of five (5) years as staff nurse.
- Evidence of skills in leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and communication.
- Thorough knowledge of good nursing practice.
- Ability to apply knowledge and express ideas both written and oral.
- Ability to write objectives for all teaching programs.
- Ability to relate well with co-workers, all levels of nursing staff, and medical staff.
- Emotional stability, poise and self confidence.
- Physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the job.
- Eligible for certification as instructor of required staff competencies.
