About The Position

The Staff Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting and promoting Hope Network Neuro Rehabilitation’s (HNNR) strategic initiatives through the coordination and implementation of staff development programs. This role partners with Human Resources, Learning and Development, supervisors, trainers, and subject matter experts to ensure employees have access to effective training opportunities, meet required training standards, and have a positive learning experience from onboarding and beyond.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in a nonprofit or human services environment; four years of relevant experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, supervisors, trainers, and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, deadlines, and training initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and effectively manage projects from planning through completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • Learning and development experience preferred
  • Experience in a leadership or managerial role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor employee compliance with training requirements based on Hope Network policies, regulations, contracts, and other applicable standards.
  • Partner with supervisors and trainers to create effective and efficient staff development experiences for HNNR workforce members.
  • Coordinate training schedules, resources, facilities, technology, and other logistics with internal trainers.
  • Maintain job roles and required training assignments within Hope Network’s corporate training and tracking systems.
  • Support continuous improvement of staff development initiatives through learning content updates, new training opportunities, and program enhancements.
  • Facilitate and/or participate in work groups and planning committees with internal and external subject matter experts to identify and provide effective training opportunities.
  • Participate in routine reviews of learner satisfaction and use feedback to help improve training programs and the overall learning experience.
  • Support improvements to the new hire experience by helping strengthen and streamline staff development processes at HNNR.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Learning and Development to maintain training programs, including Learning Connections and Compass.
  • Ensure training opportunities are entered appropriately and virtual learning content is uploaded, accessible, and functioning properly.
  • Coordinate the review of refresher training with HNNR subject matter experts to ensure content aligns with current policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor training compliance and follow up as needed to support completion of required training.
  • Provide excellent customer service and timely responses to staff development and training questions.
  • Partner with regional Program Assistants and staff development designees to coordinate continuing education, webinars, and Learn Over Lunch opportunities.
  • Assist employees, supervisors, and internal trainers in navigating the CBIS training and testing process.
  • Serve as a trainer or backup trainer as needed to support staff development programming.
  • Coordinate the onboarding of HNNR interns by partnering with Human Resources and Clinician Supervisors and ensuring related processes and guidelines remain current.
  • Lead and project manage special projects and staff development initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance as an essential requirement of the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
