About The Position

This position conducts Adult Medicaid New Hire training as well as Refresher training and Enrichment training for experienced staff for all Adult Medicaid programs. Designs, prepares and implements training materials that address Adult Medicaid program policies and procedures and navigation of NC FAST. Is assigned to mentor Adult Medicaid new hires and conduct 100% quality review of new hire work to assess worker performance. Reports regularly to Adult Medicaid supervisors and leadership on the Adult Medicaid new employee progress during training, mentoring and 100% QC review. This position also conducts QC monitoring for the Adult Medicaid Program records. Reviews Adult Medicaid case records to assure that staff is complying with all Federal, State and Local policies and laws. Reports results of Adult Medicaid case record reviews to Adult Medicaid Supervisors, Program Managers and Quality Assurance and Training (QAT) staff using automated QC reports. Utilizes quality control data to identify training needs and collaborates with other QAT staff to ensure that training is effective and aligned to the Adult Medicaid staff. Provides technical assistance to the Adult Medicaid program staff and supervisors regarding interpretation of Medicaid policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must possess detailed knowledge of Adult Medicaid policy, procedures and practice.
  • Must be proficient in processing and disposing of applications, redeterminations and/or changes in NC FAST for Adult Medicaid.
  • Must have the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with professional and administrative personnel.
  • Must be able to assess problems, coordinate resolutions, be able to handle a high volume of work and meet frequent deadlines.
  • Ability to take the initiative when acknowledging a potential opportunity for improvement.
  • Experience in processing and disposing of cases in NC FAST is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Family & Children’s Medicaid, Long Term Care procedures and practice is a plus.
  • Proficient in processing and disposing of applications, redeterminations, and/or changes in NC FAST for Family & Children’s Medicaid is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and multiple Medicaid programs including Long Term Care highly desired.
  • Training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and prepares soft skills training content and handout materials to include such topics as DSS New Employee Orientation/refresher.
  • Coordinates and executes the implementation of soft skills training for the agency to include scheduling training rooms, entering courses into the training management system, issuing training certificates, notifying employees of changes in location or date of training.
  • Arranges for guest presenters to speak to training groups about their respective program or area of expertise.
  • Conducts Adult Medicaid New Hire training, Refresher training, and Enrichment training.
  • Designs, prepares, and implements training materials for Adult Medicaid policies, procedures, and NC FAST navigation.
