About The Position

The Arlington Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center in Birmingham, AL is currently seeking a Staff Development Coordinator (RN). This role is responsible for directing in-service educational programs in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. The position involves assisting in the development and maintenance of objectives, policies, procedures, and in-service training programs in each department, as well as maintaining reports, class attendance records, and subject records. The Staff Development Coordinator will also assist in coordinating and conducting employee training, in-services, and educating staff regarding nursing policies and procedures, and assist in new-hire orientations. This role aims to support staff in understanding their duties and improving performance by identifying and addressing problem areas, and encouraging staff participation through effective communication and program presentation.

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Alabama
  • Must have two years supervisory previous experience and training staff
  • Must have knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulation and guidelines governing long-term care
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Must have a positive attitude toward the elderly

Responsibilities

  • Encourage staff participation and involvement through proper communication and presentation of programs.
