The Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist - RN is responsible for ensuring that employees receive compliance training and education necessary to perform their job responsibilities. This role oversees the process for competency evaluation of new clinical department personnel and plans, organizes, and implements ongoing education and training programs for licensed nurses, nursing assistants, unit clerks, and other ancillary personnel. The position also involves identifying educational needs through various assessments, coordinating certification programs, and ensuring that the educational curriculum meets or exceeds state, federal, and accreditation requirements. Additionally, the role includes developing and maintaining education calendars, providing clinical and classroom instruction, coordinating CPR training, and ensuring clinical competency of nursing staff. The Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist also facilitates orientation programs for all facility personnel, including new hires, rehired employees, clinical employees, and contract personnel, and coordinates students' clinical experiences.
