Staff Developer, Intelligent Implementation Workspace

Dayforce

About The Position

We are building the Intelligent Implementation Workspace, the AI-native system that will transform how customers go live on Dayforce. It is one workspace that carries an implementation from a customer's raw inputs all the way through configuration, data migration, and testing. AI agents do the heavy lifting so the experts who deliver implementations are empowered to focus on the highest-value work. Domain agents across Workforce Management (WFM), Payroll, Core HR, and Benefits generate source-grounded configuration, tests, and data migrations. Human experts stay in the loop throughout, and their judgment remains crucial to how every customer goes live. This is a real product with a validated design and a clear path to reshape a market where implementation is one of the largest and least-disrupted spaces in enterprise software. As a Staff Developer, you will set the technical direction for how we design and build these agentic systems. You will own a product area or platform surface end-to-end, frame the hardest system-level problems, and raise the bar for every engineer around you. You will help define the engineering foundations of an AI-native product from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who already builds with AI every day, is energized by agentic systems and the challenges of making them reliable, and wants to solve ambiguous, high-impact problems across teams. You should be comfortable setting technical direction where the right answer is not yet known and the ground is still being mapped. If you are looking for well-scoped work, a mature and stable codebase, or a role where AI is a side interest rather than the core of the work, this is not that role.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience building production agentic systems and architectures, including agent orchestration, evaluation frameworks (evals), and harness engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI to improve execution for yourself and your team, with measurable outcomes such as reduced cycle time or faster delivery.
  • Strong, recent hands-on experience building production software, preferably using C# and .NET.
  • Strong backend development experience with front-end capability; experience with React, TypeScript, or similar frameworks is an asset.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering reliable, maintainable distributed systems.
  • Ability to define ambiguous system-level problems and drive complex technical decisions with significant business impact.
  • Strong product mindset and technical judgment with the ability to balance outcomes and trade-offs.
  • Ownership mentality with the ability to lead initiatives from concept through delivery.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and production readiness.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering AI-enabled product capabilities using both generative and non-generative models where outputs must be grounded, auditable, and human approved.
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks and quality measurements for AI systems.
  • A track record of raising the engineering bar across multiple teams while remaining a hands-on technical leader.
  • Passion for solving complex systems problems and transforming them into elegant, dependable software.
  • A desire to help shape the future of AI-enabled enterprise implementations while continuing to grow your technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction for the Intelligent Implementation Workspace and its agentic architecture.
  • Design the orchestration, agent, and platform layers that turn customer intent into generated, verified configuration, tests, and data migration with human-in-the-loop control throughout.
  • Build production-ready agentic systems, including agent orchestration across multiple domain agents, harness engineering, and evaluation infrastructure that ensures model output is grounded, auditable, and production-ready.
  • Own the quality bar for agent output by designing evaluation frameworks and measurements that track accuracy, straight-through processing, override rates, and regressions.
  • Lead by delivering solutions where technical risk is highest and establish engineering standards through architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Act as a force multiplier by leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate design, coding, testing, debugging, and engineering practices across the team.
  • Drive technical decisions that span services and teams while partnering with Product, Design, Machine Learning, Platform, and product engineering teams across Workforce Management, Payroll, Core HR, and Benefits.
  • Own the reliability and production readiness of your solutions, including observability, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Bring strong product judgment and make thoughtful technical trade-offs throughout delivery.
