The ADI power module team is seeking a motivated and experienced power product evaluation engineer to support the Multi-Market Power BU in San Jose, CA. This role involves working with a leading power engineering team on industry-leading power module product research, development, and technical support. Requirements

  • Minimum education: BSEE with a power electronics background. MSEE is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in designing, building, and testing switching-mode power supply circuits.
  • Enjoy analog and power circuit designs, simulations, build, and lab testing.
  • Strong skills in developing (design and build) and evaluating/debugging analog circuit boards, especially switching mode power supply boards.
  • Familiar with lab equipment: oscilloscope, power supply, e-load, loop analyzer, etc.
  • Good background of analog circuit and power electronics.
  • Familiar and experienced with switching mode power converters (Buck, Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, Full Bridge, etc.).
  • Experience with circuit design and simulation tools (such as PSPICE, LTspice, OrCAD, etc.).
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication, technical writing, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communications to collaborate with global teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Test equipment programming experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting design engineers in new power module product feasibility and development
  • Assembling new product prototypes and their evaluation boards for lab evaluations
  • Conducting new module product performance evaluations, including efficiency, thermal, stability, transient responses, and protections
  • Developing test and validation systems to automate data collection and improve productivity
  • Debugging and resolving potential product issues
  • Generating detailed evaluation reports
  • Developing supporting hardware boards for product qualifications
  • Supporting new product test development, including test and bench correlations
  • Supporting new product datasheet development
  • Supporting design and simulation models, tools, and circuits
  • Supporting product failure analysis
  • Providing technical writings, presentations, and trainings as needed
