Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited dental school in the United States.
  • Valid dental license in Nevada or appointment through the USPHS/IHS.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, minority environment, demonstrating cultural sensitivity while engaging with patients.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
  • Proficiency with dental tools and technology.
  • Evidence of a recent Infectious Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) test showing ONE of the following: a negative Mantoux skin test, a negative chest x-ray, or a statement from a physician confirming freedom from TB.
  • Excellent patient management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver essential dental services, focusing on both preventive care and treatment for a diverse patient population.
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat common dental diseases.
  • Ensure the community has adequate access to high-quality dental care.
  • Perform oral and radiographic examinations.
  • Restore cavities.
  • Administer anesthesia as needed.
  • Conduct uncomplicated extractions.
  • Manage prosthetic dentistry by crafting appropriate restorations, including crowns and dentures.
  • Implement dental health programs aimed at oral disease prevention and patient education.
  • Manage the unique needs of patients, including those with behavioral challenges, fostering a supportive and caring environment in the health center.
