About The Position

Walmart is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead advanced measurement and analytics solutions that address complex marketing and business challenges at scale. This role will focus on Media Mix Modeling (MMM), experimentation, causal inference, and broader marketing analytics to measure marketing effectiveness and inform strategic investment decisions. The ideal candidate combines deep statistical and technical expertise with strong business acumen—someone who can develop rigorous analytical solutions, translate complex findings into actionable recommendations, and influence decisions across Marketing and the broader organization. Our team sits within Marketing Analytics and develops rigorous, actionable measurement solutions to help Walmart understand and optimize the impact of marketing investments. Our work spans three core areas: Media Mix Modeling, including measurement of High Value Habits; experimentation and causal inference, including geo-, store-, and customer-level measurement; and broader marketing analytics connecting media activity, customer behavior, and business outcomes. The team is the combination of advanced data science, experimentation, and real-world business impact at Walmart scale. We partner closely with Marketing, Finance and other analytics teams to turn complex measurement challenges into insights that shape marketing strategy and investment decisions.
