About The Position

SciTec, a subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace, is seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer for its Boulder, CO office. SciTec is a defense contractor focused on advanced technologies for U.S. National Security and Defense, with over 45 years of experience in developing remote sensing algorithms and data exploitation capabilities for missile defense, ISR, space domain awareness, and aircraft survivability missions. This role requires U.S. citizenship due to the nature of SciTec's government contracts.

Requirements

  • Combined total of 3+ years in system administration, network engineering, and cybersecurity.
  • 2 years of experience may be substituted with a relevant bachelor's or master's degree.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Active secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • Experience securing development and operations environments.
  • Experience with offline vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Experience with configuring alerting for SIEM tools.
  • Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and applying them.
  • Knowledge of ATOs and other government compliance frameworks.
  • Capable of independent work when tasked.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience analyzing network configurations and network architecture diagrams.
  • Experience working on or administering government accredited information systems.
  • Knowledge of operating system and network security best practices.
  • Understanding of secure data lifecycle processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in security development, configuration, and auditing across different environments.
  • Harden and secure program infrastructure assets, including servers, network devices, storage systems, and supporting platforms.
  • Coordinate task execution across multiple functional technical teams.
  • Participate in security controls related to CI/CD work.
  • Participate in STIG and ATO audit processes.
  • Create and maintain SIEM queries in response to emerging threats.
  • Ensure logging, monitoring, and access controls meet security and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate operational cybersecurity risks.
  • Collaborate on security implementations and documentation across program teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
