About The Position

Under the direction of the Sr. Staff Coordinator and/or Clinical Managers for Adult/Adolescent Services, performs duties related to scheduling and daily staffing of nursing units. Assists program nurses in maintaining a safe environment. Serves as a role model and advocate for MHW's. This position will work approximately 33 hours per week.

Requirements

  • B.A. preferred.
  • Three years Mental Health Worker experience preferred.
  • One year of office management, administrative services or staffing experience required.
  • Previous experience in Microsoft Applications, and other database management required.

Responsibilities

  • Produces nursing staff schedules in a timely fashion to meet the needs of the Programs under the supervision of the Clinical Managers.
  • Makes recommendations for short and long term cost effective staffing needs to Clinical Managers and VP of Patient Care, at least every six months.
  • Prepares, checks, and reviews daily staffing needs based on census and patient acuity, and recommends redeployment to Clinical Managers.
  • Coordinates per diem staff schedule and assignment with appropriate Clinical Manager.
  • Notifies Clinical Manager when per diem staff employees do not meet guidelines.
  • Re-deploys staff, or telephones for per diem and/or overtime staff to fill sick calls and vacancies to maintain safe, cost effective staffing.
  • Coordinates hospital-wide vacation and holiday requests in consultation with Clinical Managers to ensure safe, cost effective staffing.
  • Maintains accurate Kronos records for all employees assigned.
  • Understands and is able to process all parts of ANSOS for which he/she has access. Updates ANSOS data base on a regular basis as needed.
  • Maintains a current file of nursing personnel for the program computer for each area served.
  • Assists the VP of Patient Care in keeping daily and interval records, reports, and statistics regarding per diem and overtime staffing use.
  • Produces staffing reports from ANSOS as requested by Clinical Managers.
  • Enters patient acuity system into computer on a daily basis.
  • Reviews with Clinical Managers or designee use of earned time.
  • Assists in coordinating on-the-job orientation and cross-training keeping accurate records.
  • May perform MHW duties to supplement staff or provide emergency coverage.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills in advocating for staffing needs.
  • Takes on other clinical responsibilities as delegated by Clinical Manager.
