About The Position
Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is hiring an experienced Staff Cloud Engineer, based in Aurora, Colorado; Morrisville, North Carolina; or Sacramento, California. The role plans and evolves processes and infrastructure to support rapid capability maturation and deployment. The engineer works on an Agile development team to build and maintain automated delivery, deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure-management capabilities, including continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. The position also involves supporting installed systems and infrastructure, developing scripts and templates to automate provisioning and management, contributing to information and operational support system design, and evaluating application performance. An active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance and active U.S. Government CI Polygraph are required at application; the role also requires the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access. The position offers a sign-on bonus starting at $10,000, and relocation assistance may be available.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
- Active U.S. Government CI Polygraph at application, current and within scope.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 or more years of relevant experience, a master’s degree with 10 or more years, a Ph.D. with 8 or more years, or four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and provisioning technology.
- CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT/IAM II certification.
- Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems.
- Experience in an Agile software development framework.
- Experience with at least one preferred qualification.

Responsibilities
- Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to execute programs supporting rapid capability maturation and deployment.
- Integrate development pipelines using automation, test-driven development tools, and continuous integration and testing frameworks.
- Define and implement program standards for builds, deployments, provisioning, and monitoring.
- Ensure software configuration management, code quality, and code coverage through automated testing in CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with an Agile development team to deliver end-to-end automation for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
- Build and configure delivery environments that support CI/CD tools using an Agile delivery methodology.
- Create scripts and templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
- Collaborate with development teams to create automated continuous integration and continuous delivery systems.
- Work with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve problems.
- Monitor and support installed systems and infrastructure.
- Develop custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce human intervention.
- Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Oversee security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and develop and implement solutions with developers.
