We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS) to join our team, with deep expertise in designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS. In this role, you will lead cloud architecture and implementation efforts, drive DevOps and infrastructure‑as‑code best practices, and enable reliable application delivery through automation and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience with AWS services, managed container platforms (e.g., EKS/ECS), and modern DevOps tooling, along with a passion for operational excellence, system reliability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a Cloud or DevOps Engineer with deep, hands‑on AWS expertise.
  • AWS Expertise: Strong knowledge of core AWS services across compute, networking, storage, and containers, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS/ECS, ECR, and ALB/NLB.
  • Containers: Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with IaC tools, with Terraform preferred; experience with CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK is a plus.
  • CI/CD: Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Version Control: Strong familiarity with Git‑based version control workflows.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem‑solving abilities, clear and effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast‑paced, engineering‑driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and take ownership of cloud infrastructure in production environments.
  • Experience influencing cloud and DevOps best practices across teams or projects.
  • Comfort working in environments with security, compliance, and operational requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with serverless and container‑based architectures, including AWS Fargate and event-driven systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with observability stacks, including monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
  • Experience with GitOps‑based deployment workflows and tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including policy‑as‑code approaches using tools like OPA/Gatekeeper and AWS Config Rules.
  • Experience implementing cost optimization strategies and applying FinOps practices within AWS environments.
  • Familiarity with ML/AI infrastructure or data-platform workloads is a plus.
  • Relevant AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Specialty certifications.
  • Experience operating and evolving shared cloud or platform infrastructure used by multiple teams.
  • Exposure to large‑scale, production AWS environments with reliability, security, and cost constraints.
  • Experience balancing developer velocity with governance and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS, spanning compute, networking, storage, and managed container platforms (EKS, ECS, Fargate).
  • Architect and run containerized workloads using Amazon EKS and/or Amazon ECS, including autoscaling, service discovery, and deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling updates.
  • Define and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or AWS CDK to ensure consistent, repeatable provisioning across environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, deployment, and release processes, enabling safe and frequent delivery.
  • Automate operational workflows and system configuration to improve reliability, reduce toil, and minimize manual intervention.
  • Partner closely with application development teams to containerize services and ensure seamless integration with AWS cloud services.
  • Implement and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system health, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Embed security and compliance best practices into cloud infrastructure, including IAM design, secrets management, network segmentation, and adherence to enterprise security frameworks.
  • Manage and govern multi‑account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower, enforcing guardrails and best practices at scale.
  • Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation for cloud architectures, infrastructure, and operational processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship on cloud and DevOps best practices.
  • Drive reliability, performance, and cost‑optimization initiatives across AWS environments.
  • Participate in architectural reviews and influence cloud standards and patterns.
