About The Position

Qualcomm Multimedia Systems Group is seeking candidates for its camera firmware team in San Diego, CA. The team focused on imaging system design and development for mobile devices at both high and low tiers as well as adjacent market. We are seeking candidates with technical excellence in embedded system development and the creativity and initiative to apply their technical knowledge to exciting new camera technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• Strong experience with C/C++ programming.
• Experienced with microcontroller architecture, RTOS, and/or ARM architecture.
• Familiarity with Android, JTAG, ADB, version control.
• Strong background in digital signal processing and digital image processing.
• Quick learner, self-motivated, able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Assembly programming, embedded SW experience and understand fixed-point implementation preferred.
• Experience with developing and implementing image processing algorithms preferred.
• 3-5 years related industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Embedded low level camera driver design and development, work throughout the firmware life cycle.
• End-to-end systems development, prototyping and commercialization of new camera features and technologies.
