About The Position

Lucid is seeking an experienced Staff CAD/PLM Engineer to lead the architecture, standardization, and evolution of its enterprise CAD and Product Lifecycle Management ecosystem. The engineer will define how vehicle engineering data is created, governed, and integrated across enterprise systems. The role includes leading the transition to Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE, developing data interfaces with SAP ERP (iPPE), authoring enterprise MCAD exchange standards, and establishing MBSE and requirements traceability workflows from systems architecture through manufacturing deliverables. The position combines platform architecture and administration, CAD methods and tooling, supplier data governance, requirements management, technical leadership, and Tier-3 support. The engineer will work with enterprise IT, PLM development teams, engineering communities, and suppliers to improve the quality and consistency of engineering data and workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 8 years of dedicated experience in CAD/PLM systems engineering, tools and methods, or CAD quality administration within the automotive, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing industries.
  • Deep technical proficiency in Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE, including CATIA V6, ENOVIA, TRM/RFLP, and DMU.
  • Experience with native client administration, Power Copies, and template development.
  • Direct experience with PLM-to-ERP integrations, particularly SAP iPPE and eBOM/mBOM lifecycles.
  • Proven experience authoring enterprise engineering specifications, ASME Y14.5 / ISO GD&T guidelines, and MCAD supplier data protocols.
  • Working knowledge of MBSE methodologies, Cameo/SysML modeling, and traceability to physical engineering releases.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on scripting and automation capabilities using Python, EKL, CAA, CATScript, or REST APIs.
  • Experience with automated drawing generation (LADS) and AI-assisted engineering agents.
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical workstreams for enterprise platform upgrades, defining validation scenarios, managing lower environments, and resolving blocked actions.
  • Architect and maintain enterprise workspace structures, ENOVIA dashboard frameworks, and SWYM community access models.
  • Partner with enterprise IT and PLM development teams to refine the 3DEXPERIENCE–SAP BOM interface (Phase 2 / iPPE) and establish governance for engineering release timelines and revision controls.
  • Own and standardize enterprise CAD Start Parts for sheet metal, plastic A-side WIP, and castings/machining WIP, incorporating datum schemes, Power Copies, part markings, and manufacturing information styling.
  • Develop modeling methodologies for electrical wire harness integration and captive fasteners, including relevant configurations and torque attributes.
  • Define and automate Digital Mock-Up clash analysis and space-claim verification using configuration-driven vehicle packaging tools.
  • Author, maintain, and enforce enterprise MCAD data exchange standards for 3D models and 2D drawings exchanged with suppliers.
  • Establish product data quality thresholds, geometry quality check profiles, naming conventions, and formal unit exception workflows.
  • Drive Functional Specification Documents and UAT execution for linking 3DX Requirements (TRM) to Technical Product Documentation (TPD).
  • Operationalize Requirements, Functional, Logical, and Physical (RFLP) workflows and one-way synchronization between Cameo / No Magic and 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Lead monthly 3DX Champions / Super-User Forums and present on tool deployments, automated drawing rollouts, and emerging AI-assisted CAD tools.
  • Serve as the senior Tier-3 escalation point for complex CAD modeling bottlenecks, geometry issues, and PLM workflow blockers.
  • Manage and prioritize feature requests, bugs, and development backlogs in Jira, including epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
