Staff Backend Software Engineer - Platform Integration
About The Position
Addepar is seeking an experienced backend software engineer to join the Platform Integrations team. This role focuses on building client onboarding solutions to enable clients to bring their data onto Addepar's systems for reporting, analysis, and understanding. The team interfaces with product and client solutions teams to understand data and client needs, implementing performant workflows and data systems that ensure low friction and high scalability in onboarding client financial data. The Platform Integration team is passionate about handling large volumes of data and automation to reduce manual effort. The ideal candidate is interested in technical challenges, motivated to understand user problems, and has experience designing scalable solutions and building data systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, preferably with Python and/or Java
- A strong ownership mentality and strong communication skills. You enjoy taking ideas from inception through to production
- Robust analytical and problem solving skills
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without requiring current or future visa sponsorship (for example, employment-based visas such as H-1B, F-1/OPT, or similar), and must be authorized to begin work in the U.S. on their first day of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with data processing and analysis using PySpark or similar frameworks is a plus
- Experience building data systems using AWS is a plus
Responsibilities
- Collaborate multi-functionally with Product, Client Solution teams, and other engineering teams to deliver holistic client onboarding solutions
- Write well-designed and tested code to solve complex engineering problems
- Lead individual projects including ownership of areas such as technical solution and architecture design, timeline and estimation, coding and implementation
- Communicate technical ideas and steer direction on projects from an engineering standpoint
- Mentor and guide other engineers on the team
