New bar admittees pending admission AND seasoned attorneys considered!

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School.
• Excellent communication, research, organizational, and writing skills.
• Ability to handle stress and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team-building skills and the ability to work independently.
• A demonstrated commitment to public interest law and social justice.

Nice To Haves

• Prior litigation and landlord-tenant experience are a plus.
• Familiarity with NYC housing law and public benefits is advantageous.
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients and assist them in maintaining their housing, ensuring they receive the support they need.
• Handle non-payment and holdover proceedings in court, represent tenants at trial, and manage litigation before administrative agencies.
• Conduct workshops, trainings, and community outreach to educate and empower tenants.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, motions, and agreements, and assess the merits of cases assigned by the court or referred clients.
