About The Position

Under the direction of the General Counsel, the Staff Attorney represents Pace and its employees in property damage, subrogation, and personal injury matters in various forums; and handles other duties as assigned. Travel to Cook and its collar counties is required.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor degree.
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ previous litigation experience with a good work record, including attendance.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have excellent reading comprehension, research, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a highly organized, detail oriented, and resourceful team player.
  • Must be able to successfully and efficiently work on numerous projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Must be a highly skilled negotiator who demonstrates strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including using Westlaw and be proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Adobe, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, typing, driving, and attending court, depositions, and meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience prosecuting and/or defending personal injury cases is preferred.
  • Prior jury trial experience is also preferred.
