About The Position

Community Legal Aid (CLA) seeks a staff attorney to join its education law unit. This role, based in CLA's Springfield office, will focus on assisting at-risk, low-income students with cases related to Individualized Education Programs, school discipline (including suspensions and expulsions), and language access. The attorney may also represent children with disabilities in Social Security Administration benefits cases, particularly at the reconsideration and appeal stages. Responsibilities include conducting community outreach and education, and potentially assisting with grant report preparation.

Requirements

  • Recent law school graduates and more experienced attorneys are eligible to apply.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities
