About The Position
The Vermont Department of Labor has an immediate opening for a full-time Staff Attorney/ Administrative Law Judge in its Workers’ Compensation and Safety Division. This is an Exempt position.
Requirements
- Member in good standing of the Vermont Bar, or eligible for admission
- Superlative legal research, analysis, and writing skills
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in workers’ compensation law and/or administrative law
- Experience in wage and hour law
Responsibilities
- Conducting pretrial conferences and formal hearings in disputed workers’ compensation claims
- Ruling on discovery and other pretrial motions
- Drafting decisions for the Commissioner’s review
- Hearing and deciding disputed wage and hour claims
- Other tasks as may be assigned
