About The Position

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the Department of Healthcare and Family Services is seeking a highly capable and experienced professional to serve as an Administrative Assistant I. The successful candidate for this challenging and rewarding role will work collaboratively and professionally with the OIG Deputy of Investigations and Internal Affairs. The ideal candidate will gain knowledge of all Bureaus within OIG and become familiar with the OIG mission, goals, and objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment in the identification of priorities, to work collaboratively with internal and external partners, to proactively address issues, and to ensure timely completion of all work. In additional to strong office administration skills, the ideal candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal skills to achieve set goals while demonstrating independent initiative and be a strong written and verbal communicator. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public administration or business administration
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program
  • Requires the ability to pass a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history
  • Requires the ability to maintain and utilize state issued equipment such as a laptop
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) to process confidential reports
  • Two (2) years of experience utilizing Adobe products processing confidential reports
  • One (1) year of experience working as an administrative assistant for a public or private organization
  • One (1) year of experience serving as a liaison for management in meetings
  • One (1) year of experience working with an investigative or compliance team
  • One (1) year of experience developing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • One (1) year of experience responding to program and operational inquiries from agency staff and other organizations
  • One year (1) of experience conducting special projects which include evaluating existing and proposed programs, policies, and procedures for a public or private organization

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Staff Assistant to the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations in the Office of Inspector General(OIG)
  • Serves in a liaison capacity as an informational channel to and from the Deputy Inspector General
  • Performs a variety of sensitive, administrative duties
  • Prepares and reviews written work product
  • Attends and participates in various meetings to keep informed or proposed changes in current policies andprogram activities
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove
