About The Position

Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for an Architect within our Engineering and Development Services Architectural Group. The in-house architectural staff provides architectural building support for water, power, data center, and nextgen agricultural projects. Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture from an NAAB or a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Most positions - depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division - will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit of such registration.
Intermediate knowledge of architectural design principles.

Responsibilities

Leading architectural building design and detailing on projects.
Mentoring in how to apply building codes and design standards to specific building types.
Mentoring in specification writing if the candidate is not already experienced.
Exposure to all aspects of professional practice including construction phase services.
Design and Construction Activities: Proposal and conceptual design graphics.
Detailed Design: Coordinating the creation of drawings and specifications with other disciplines.
Construction Phase Services: Reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, etc.
Code Reviews: Facility review for building code compliance.
Sustainable Design/LEED: Application of sustainable strategies.
