About The Position

The Staff Appraiser is responsible for preparing damage estimates and/or appraisals on automobiles within their assigned territory and issuing payments. This role involves reinspecting damaged vehicles to ensure appropriate repairs, processing supplements to conclusion, and traveling to various counties for damage assessment. The appraiser will also assist in setting up and operating drive-in claims services during catastrophe situations, both within and outside the state. Additionally, this position supports the training of field adjusters in physical damage assessment and makes critical decisions regarding repair time, labor, parts replacement, and vehicle salvageability (total loss determination).

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Ability to travel to various counties in the state
• Knowledge of auto repair processes
• Ability to determine repairability of parts and vehicles
• Skill in estimating time and labor for auto repairs

Nice To Haves

• Experience in claims service operation during catastrophe situations
• Experience in training field adjusters

Responsibilities

• Decide time and labor for auto repair.
• Decide if parts are repairable or if they must be replaced.
• Decide if vehicles are repairable or are a total loss.
