Staff AI Product Engineer
About The Position
GoodParty.org is seeking a Staff AI Product Engineer to help scale frontier AI and empower tens of thousands of Independent candidates and elected officials. This role is for an engineer who is passionate about the latest AI advancements, tests their effectiveness, and transforms the best ideas into robust, high-impact features. The successful candidate will lead technical projects, focusing on architecture, setting standards, full-stack development, and deploying AI-native products to users solving real-world problems. GoodParty.org is a Public Benefit Corporation dedicated to making people matter more than money in democracy by empowering Independent candidates. Since 2024, over 13,000 Independent candidates have won their races using their tools, training, and support. Their AI-powered platform offers free tools for launching campaigns, connecting with voters, and serving communities effectively, independent of political parties or large donors. The organization was founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit and is building solutions for a representative democracy.
Requirements
- Hard experience shipping and iterating on production AI systems with real usage.
- Hands-on experience designing eval systems, building agent graphs, and doing general agent engineering.
- A hard track record of single-handedly delivering internal improvements that meaningfully and measurably increase the output of everyone on your team.
- Skilled at remote communication and creating clarity in chaotic situations.
- Must be physically located in the US.
Nice To Haves
- Professional or volunteer experience in civic tech, democracy reform, political campaigns, or social impact initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Single-handedly build and own large parts of the GoodParty.org products that serve independent candidates and elected officials every day.
- Iterate extremely quickly, transforming rough product ideas into a working MVP in 1-2 days and then optimizing for speed.
- Push the boundaries of what is possible with agents, both in GoodParty.org products and in day-to-day work.
- Lead technical projects without needing to be a people manager: shaping architecture, setting patterns, building across the stack, and pushing our AI-native products into the hands of civic leaders.
