About The Position

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial operations. Reporting to the Controller, this role plays a key part in the month-end close process, financial analysis, and reconciliations while working cross-functionally to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work cross-functionally
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliations

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing financial operations and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements.
• Reconcile bank statements and web-based receivable accounts (e.g., Amazon, Amazon Pay, PayPal).
• Manage fixed assets, including maintaining schedules for GAAP and tax purposes, and recording depreciation/amortization entries.
• Prepare and enter journal entries, including accruals, to ensure the accurate presentation of financial statements.
• Analyze and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, researching discrepancies as needed.
• Support the preparation of year-end consolidating entries and coordinate with external CPAs during audits or financial reviews.
• Work closely with marketing to ensure accurate accounting of advertising expenses.
• Prepare and distribute weekly cash flow updates.
• Maintain digital filing systems for accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and other assignments as directed by the Controller.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and ensure adherence to company policies.
