About The Position

The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Assistant Controller and assist in matters relating to financial and operational reporting. This role is primarily responsible for supporting assigned account reconciliations, journal entries, and sales reporting schedules. Additionally, the position will be involved in the month-end close process and assist with audit inquiries and requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with an accounting concentration
• At least 1-2 years of accounting experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong numerical aptitude
• Analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with accounting, cross-funtional teams, and management

Nice To Haves

• Full-cycle accounting close experience
• Inventory related experience
• Exposure to US GAAP principles
• Multiview system experience
• Grocery retail, warehousing or distribution industry exposure

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Reconcile various asset and liability accounts monthly, as assigned
• Perform account analyses for assigned accounts to identify and correct discrepancies as appropriate
• Assist the accounting/finance department in streamlining current reporting processes
• Prepare ad hoc reports as requested by management
• Review and validate daily and weekly sales reports for senior management
• Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns
• Assist with store licenses and permits renewals

Benefits

• Pay Rate: $26 to $30 per hour
