Position Summary and Responsibilities: Accountants are a key part of the site leadership team because of the insight and visibility they provide, which can make this a challenging position. At Zentech, we believe that winning is contagious – when we help others win, we win too. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably within the manufacturing industry. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. At Zentech, accountants provide financial analytical support by collecting, compiling, and assisting in the preparation of various reports for customer pricing, accounting, and profitability analyses. They also perform general ledger, financial reporting, and expense account analysis functions within the Finance department. This role is accountable for a thorough understanding of financial information and prioritizing actions to drive financial controls and improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
Financial acumen and high attention to detail
Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Create, issue, and send accurate bills, invoices, and credit memos to clients.
Record incoming payments (checks, credit cards, ACH, and wire transfers) and match them to the correct customer accounts.
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger, verify transaction accuracy, and identify or fix discrepancies.
Monitor aging reports, track overdue accounts, and follow up professionally with clients to collect late payments.
Research and resolve billing inquiries, disputes, and questions from clients or internal teams.
Record and maintain entries in the general ledger and reconcile with sub-ledgers.
Compile internal monthly financial statements and other related financial reports.
Analyze and recap preliminary various balance sheet and expense accounts.
Work collaboratively with program management, operations, purchasing, and accounting functions.
Participate in the preparation of forecasts and reports for cost, sales, income, bookings, backlog, headcount, material and other related data.
Understanding material costs, labor costs, overheads, inventory, and A/R status.
Lead by example.
