About The Position

The Staff Accountant supports the accounting department by ensuring the integrity of financial information, adhering to Company policies, procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role involves recording transactions related to prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and leases, and contributing to financial reporting. The Staff Accountant is crucial for maintaining accurate and timely accounting records, supporting the preparation of financial and regulatory reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with financial analysis, and aiding in the preparation of accounting statements and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • One or more years of accounting or finance experience
  • Proficient in 10-key and alphanumeric data entry
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Customer service mindset with a focus on meeting internal stakeholder needs
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality results

Responsibilities

  • Post data to various ledgers, registers, and record monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Compile and analyze financial records, including preparing monthly account reconciliations within established timeframes
  • Research and respond to financial inquiries from management
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation for the annual audit
  • Support documentation efforts related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile assigned accounts
  • Perform basic financial analysis and provide insights to support financial decision-making
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, including preparing documentation and reports
  • Prepare and review financial reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with special projects and other related duties as assigned
