About The Position

The Staff Accountant provides financial, operational, and reconciliation support across the Market, Office Coffee Service (OCS), and Vending business units. This role is a key contributor to the Madison District finance team, partnering closely with the Operations Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and to support initiatives that drive continuous performance improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of general ledger experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and GAAP accounting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across warehouse, field, and administrative teams
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrate ability to analyze data, solve problems, and work independently in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

Support Accounts Receivable activities, including validation and reconciliation
Review and maintain financial records to ensure accuracy and timely reporting
Assist in the month-end close process, including general ledger accuracy and balance sheet reconciliations
Perform monthly inventory reconciliations across three lines of business
Prepare and maintain journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
Partner with operations to support efficient and effective business performance
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner
Support internal audits and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Maintain organized financial documentation and complete data entry as required
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
