About The Position

Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. is a global financial services company seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of combined accounting or audit experience, preferably from small or mid-sized public accounting firms. This role is responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes, various management reporting, and ad hoc responsibilities. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2 -3 years combination of progressive accounting and auditing experience
  • Experience with month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in general ledger accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Archway, or similar)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Team player with ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports
  • Manage general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations
  • Process journal entries and ensure accurate recording of transactions
  • Maintain fixed asset register and calculate depreciation
  • Review expense reports and vendor invoices
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and post-closing entries
  • Ensure timely completion of all closing activities
  • Coordinate with other family office team members to gather necessary information
  • Assist with external audits
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Support tax preparation and planning activities
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes
  • Implement best practices and internal controls
  • Assist in the development and documentation of accounting procedures
