About The Position

Memorable customer experiences at our retail stores are supported by strong financial operations behind the scenes. We’re looking for a Staff Accountant who is ready to take meaningful ownership across the accounting cycle and help us scale with accuracy, insight, and discipline. You’ll play a key role in the month-end close, connect financial results to what is happening across our stores and supply chain, and partner with teams across the business to turn accounting data into clear, actionable information. Along the way, you’ll help improve processes, strengthen controls, and support the growth of junior team members. This role is currently remote and must be based within the Greater Los Angeles area. Our teams will return to a hybrid office environment in late 2026.

  • Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing close deadlines independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator, able to explain accounting results to non-accounting business partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own preparation of journal entries for accruals, prepaids, payroll, revenue, and intercompany activity.
  • Lead month-end close tasks for assigned areas, meeting close calendar deadlines and documentation standards.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations (cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accrued liabilities) and resolve reconciling items timely.
  • Reconcile store-level revenue, tender types, and third-party delivery platform settlements to the general ledger.
  • Support inventory and COGS accounting, including variance analysis between theoretical and actual usage.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management reporting.
  • Partner with FP&A to explain account-level variances versus budget/prior period.
  • Support external audit and internal SOX control testing by preparing workpapers and responding to requests.
