Staff Accountant at Armoured One
About The Position
Armoured One, LLC is hiring a Staff Accountant in Syracuse, New York. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this full-time, onsite, non-exempt position supports day-to-day accounting transactions and month-end closing for the glass department, as well as accounting, finance, and compliance activities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; remote work is not offered. Armoured One develops and provides solutions intended to deter, prevent, defend, and protect against active shooter and other deadly aggressive behavior incidents. Its work includes security film and glass, security assessments, and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience; construction or contracting experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, financial reporting, and accrual accounting practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite.
- High level of integrity.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Clear understanding of data privacy standards.
- Employment is subject to pre-employment background screening.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in construction or contracting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Rootstock or QuickBooks.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze the department budget with department teams.
- Determine prevailing wages for accurate certified payroll.
- Assist with sales and use tax filings.
- Reconcile accounts payable.
- Support month-end closing as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.
