About The Position

The Salvation Army Midland Division Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Staff Accountant. This role involves performing full charge bookkeeping and accounting for several operational centers at the Regional Accounting Center (Midland Divisional Headquarters). This is a full-time exempt position, requiring 40 hours per week, with a starting salary of $62,000 annually. The office is located at 1130 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/related field
• Two (2) years accounting/related field work experience (combination of education and experience will be considered)
• Fluent in computer use with experience in spreadsheet, word processing and computerized accounting systems
• High level of confidentiality

• Self-starter
• Able to handle several projects at the same time
• Perform well with minimum supervision
• Demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment

Responsibilities

• Review accounts payable and receipting entries completed by Specialists
• Process, code and record complex invoices and reimbursement requests
• File monthly sales tax returns for units as required
• Prepare and input journal entries following established accounting procedures
• Perform bank account reconciliations for non-assigned locations
• Review ledgers associated with related funds and accounts
