Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Excel wizard + ERP power user.
• Solid grasp of inventory accounting, cost tracking, and reconciliation.
• Proactive problem-solver who enjoys partnering across teams and turning data into actionable insights.
• Comfortable in a dynamic setting: Frequent sitting/standing/walking, occasional exposure to warehouse elements or weather, and flexibility for nights/weekends when business demands it.

• Bonus points if you’ve worked in distribution, food & beverage, or produce.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and keep everything balanced in a fast-moving environment.
• Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely, spot-on financial closes that power smart business decisions.
• Craft internal financial statements and insightful management reports that help leadership see the big picture.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable transactions with precision, chasing down discrepancies like a detective to keep cash flowing smoothly.
• Track inventory movements, shrink, adjustments, and reconcile between accounting systems and warehouse reality, critical when every day counts against spoilage.
• Analyze freight, packaging, handling, and margins to uncover opportunities that protect profitability in a competitive industry.
• Collaborate cross-functionally, partner with operations, procurement, and logistics teams to validate purchasing, sales, and pricing data that keeps us competitive.
• Support audits by organizing documentation like a pro and ensure full compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory standards.
• Spot process improvements in workflows and deliver ad hoc analyses that help the Controller and leadership make bold moves.
