The Staff Accountant will be an integral member of the JIG Accounting Team, responsible for recording journal entries and preparing reconciliations for assigned companies while supporting day-to-day accounting operations. In this role, the Staff Accountant will assist with core accounting, budgeting, forecasting, Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable review, and reporting functions, gaining broad exposure to the full finance cycle. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who wants to learn quickly, take ownership, and contribute to a growing, dynamic accounting function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships or entry-level), including month end close process.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Highly organized.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to perform simple, routine work with little supervision.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to breakdown accounting into T accounts.
  • Dependable, reliable, honest and respectful of others; maintains the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Strong team player with an “Others First” orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA not required; CPA-track or CPA eligibility is a plus.
  • Workday ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and close entries.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
  • Perform basic account reconciliations (cash, prepaids, AP and other balance sheet accounts).
  • Support accounts payable: enter and code invoices, process expense reports, and assist with payment runs.
  • Perform research and analysis for financial statements, budgets, forecasts.
  • Monthly related party billings.
  • Assist with budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate on Ad hoc projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
