About The Position

Supergo is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team and support the daily operations of maintaining complete and accurate financial records. As a mission-driven beauty brand committed to making SPF a daily habit, we move fast and hold ourselves to high standards — and we want our accounting function to reflect that same rigor and energy. This position offers excellent exposure to a broad range of work areas, including operating expense management, accruals, general ledger ownership, month-end close, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, brings a proactive attitude and strong work ethic, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in New York, NY, reporting to the Assistant Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Ability to manage time effectively with multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to proactively share progress and seek guidance when necessary
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve; actively seeks ways to improve processes
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or working towards a CPA is a plus
  • Experience in consumer goods, retail, or DTC/e-commerce environments is a plus
  • Familiarity with financial close tools and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process and record Operating Expense transactions and accruals, including Payroll Expenses, Travel & Entertainment Expenses, and Depreciation and Amortization Expense
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, with primary ownership over Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Fixed Assets, and Payroll accounts
  • Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, completing balance sheet account reconciliations, and contributing to monthly variance flux commentary
  • Support accounts payable operations via vendor maintenance
  • Coordinate and provide documentation, schedules, and support for external audits and internal reviews; serve as a key point of contact for auditor inquiries related to assigned account areas
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data processing
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; support ad hoc financial analyses as requested by senior leadership
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency; assist with system implementations or upgrades as needed
