About The Position

Arkansas Talent Group is looking for a Staff Accountant (Hybrid) to join our growing mid to large sized client in Central Arkansas. This role supports financial accounting and reporting multiple operating locations and works closely with business leaders to ensure results are accurate, timely, and compliant. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred; manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Inventory accounting or plant accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; general Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
  • ERP system experience required.
  • Must have some ERP system experience like SAP or JD.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger activity and support day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Prepare journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and file recurring sales and use tax returns.
  • Support inventory audits, physical counts, cycle counts, and related reconciliations.
  • Partner with site and operations leaders to analyze results, research variances, and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Help identify and implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls, improve timeliness, and support cash flow management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, GAAP, and applicable reporting requirements.
  • Support audit requests, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed.
  • Travel occasionally to operating locations. Less than 15%.
