About The Position

The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of the company by maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations, particularly within a manufacturing environment. The Royal Group’s mission is to provide value-added solutions to the most demanding customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to utilize accounting processes, plus add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, and volumes
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excell intermediate to advance knowledge including functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, IF Statements, PIVOT tables and VLOOKUP.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • CPA or progress toward certification is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end closing.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, including cost of sold goods and production variances.
  • Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions as needed.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to understand financial impact of production activities.
  • Support audits and tax filings by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide some technical directions to other accountants and/or clerical staff doing bookkeeping.
  • Provide special project assistance to Director of Finance, or Controller.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
