About The Position

Riverbay Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, processing payments, managing financial schedules, and responding to inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

Responsibilities

  • Performs bank reconciliations for all bank accounts held by the Corporation
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Post lockboxes for collections during the first ten days of every month
  • Process lease security payments made by commercial tenants
  • Process Co-op Times advertising revenue payments
  • Process DRIE and STAR credits for applying to shareholders’ accounts when due
  • Prepare Sales Tax remittance for payment of sales tax periodically
  • Post payments, community complaints, maintenance charges checks from the debt collector and other charges to shareholders accounts
  • Manage the income affidavit process, review surcharges, adjust shareholders’ lease charges and file report with HCR annually.
  • Responds to outside agency requests pertaining to shareholder’s accounts
  • Prepare financial schedules for the external audit
  • Respond to shareholders’ inquiries as necessary
  • Post shareholders’ and commercial tenants accounts with late fees monthly
  • Prepare and mail 1098s and 1099s yearly.
  • Prepare equity schedules and other financial schedules for the annual external audit
  • Coordinate the application of previous surcharges as reported by the State.
  • Prepare rent verification and other documents on behalf of shareholders.
  • Work closely with YARDI consultant to improve YARDI operations.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned
