Becht is looking for a motivated and driven Staff Accountant who wants to take the next step in their career. We are seeking a capable, curious, and dependable Staff Accountant to support general accounting, financial reporting, and cash management. The right person will have strong accounting fundamentals, take pride in producing accurate work, and be eager to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities to support the team. Our accounting team works hard, maintains high standards, and enjoys working together. The successful candidate will be comfortable giving and receiving direct, respectful feedback, able to maintain a sense of humor during busy periods, and willing to step in wherever support is needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • General Accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.
  • Experience in consulting, engineering, professional services, or another project-based industry.
  • Experience with project accounting, audits, or multi-entity accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Prepare journal entries and Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
  • Analyze general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with financial statements and management reporting.
  • Monitor cash balances and support cash forecasting.
  • Support audits, tax filings, and other reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
  • Support additional projects and team priorities as needed.
