About The Position

This role assists the Site Controller in fulfilling all financial reporting requirements. The Staff Accountant will be involved in monthly financial closing duties, maintaining fixed assets, administering card programs, preparing tax packages, and monitoring internal controls. The position also supports costing, inventory audits, and royalty calculations. Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in accounting, finance, or related focus (Co-op or internship experience may be included).
  • Functional understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • BA or BS in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not provided for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely closing of the general ledger.
  • Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems, specifically Hyperion.
  • Working knowledge of corporate tax processes, including preparation of federal tax packages, sales and use tax filings, and support for specialized credits.
  • Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and SOX requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • BS in Accounting.
  • CPA and/or CMA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly financial closing duties, including standard journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, inter-company tie-outs, and audit of shipping and receiving for proper cut-off.
  • Upload data and supplementary information to Hyperion and prepare/distribute financial statements.
  • Maintain fixed assets and conduct annual fixed asset audits.
  • Administer the Concur travel card program and purchase card program.
  • Prepare annual corporate tax packages, sales and use tax filings, and R&D tax credit documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring internal controls and adhering to SOX requirements.
  • Provide standard costing and assist in the annual physical inventory audit.
  • Prepare annual royalty calculations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
